Your Honour:

It is gratifying to note that the apex court directed NEPRA to inform the court in advance in case it recommends increase in electricity tariffs. The court also directed the Ministry of Water & Power and the Ministry of Finance to inform the court about the proposed withdrawal of subsidy on electricity or increase in tariffs of the utility. (The Nation, Lahore, July 24, 2009)

As the Founder & Moderator of the Good Governance Forum, the Largest, Most Diversified and Most Globally Searched forum, I request the apex court to allow the Good Governance Forum to present its point of view on the current electricity tariffs, proposed electricity tariffs and the proposed withdrawal of subsidy on electricity.

The undersigned will be based in Islamabad from 30th July to 30th August 2009 and will greatly appreciate an opportunity to offer comments on the government's proposals AFTER these are submitted to the apex court and its copies provided to the undersigned to facilitate the apex court to arrive at the appropriate conclusion and issue directives to the relevant government ministries/agencies accordingly.
